You can create living space inside both a pole barn and a metal building. Many people build barndominiums with either method. Metal buildings often have fewer interior posts, making layouts more flexible. With a pole barn, you may need to plan around the wood posts but can still finish the inside with insulation, drywall, and plumbing.
