Generally, a Clear Span building has a higher upfront cost for the steel kit. Because there are no interior columns, the rafters must be much heavier to support the roof. For buildings wider than 100 feet, you can expect to pay 10% to 25% more for a clear span structure compared to a multi-span structure.
